Three Æsir, Odin, Loki and Hoenir, went through the mountains, shorts of food, until they found a herd of oxen, so they tried to boil one of these. But when they opened the baking hole (to be able to boil the food, they "buried" it under hot stones) the ox wasn't boiled.

One eagle who saw them asked a bit of ox, and in return the eagle would help them to boil it. Loki, who saw that he was eaten too much, tried to hit him with a stick, which got stucked in the eagle's body, and when he started to fly, Loki was dragged. Desperately, he begged mercy to the eagle, and eagle would concede it if Loki made Iðunn get out of the Asgard with her apples, which gave the immortality to the gods.

John Bauer: Loki junto a Iðunn (Loki and Iðunn)

Once Iðunn was out of the Asgard, Thjazi (the eagle), kidnapped her and carried her to Thrymheim, his home inside the Jötunheim. With Iðunn out of the Asgard, the gods started getting older. To retrieve Iðunn, Loki uses the falcon's skin of Freyja to costume himself and be able to fly to the Jötunheim. Iðunn was home alone, so Loki turned her into a nut and carried her back.

Thjazi came back to his home and realized that Iðunn  wasn't there, so he flied, trying to catch Loki, but on the border of the Asgard, the gods burned lots of shavings just after Loki passed, burning and killing Thjazi

But Thjazi's daughter, Skadi, went to Asgard claiming offset or revenge for his father's death, and the gods allowed him to choose a god who marry with, seeing only the legs. Skadi choose one, thinking that he would be the beautiful Baldr, but it was Njord

Also, the last part of the agreement was to make Skadi laugh, so Loki tied the end of a rope at the beard of a goat, and the other end to his scrotum, and this screaming show made Skadi laugh
